Tap Room

Located at 226 Benefit Street The Tap Room is a multi-functional space, which is used by the entire RISD
community to provide the opportunity for students, faculty and alumni to join in a classroom experience outside the traditional classroom. This historic space, which was once a church attic, now hosts an array of academic and student interests. Academic courses, meetings and installations are planned for the day and by night the programming includes student theatrical performances, dance classes, fencing lessons, video and dj nights. Special performances have included Improv Nights, talent shows, musical performances featuring many of our own talented RISD students. Facilities include a state of the art video and sound system as well as a number of lighting options. The Tap Room is also available for use as an impromptu class or meeting space for a RISD club or organization.
